Anna turns two - Wizard of Oz colors

April 30th 2011 we welcomed an adorable dark brown haired baby girl to our family! This weekend we celebrated our little blonde haired (promise she didn't get switched in the hospital) 2nd birthday. We are so grateful to have her in our family! Here are some photos from the weekend.

The day after Anna was born with big brother Colton.

Lions and Tigers and Bears.... OH MY! I went with the colors from the wizard of oz, it made for a cute and colorful party! And what better place to have a Wizard of Oz colored party than at a super cute park in Chandler, AZ that is country themed! So much grass and trees in the park it reminds me of Kansas. ;)

Baby bump alert!

Even the ramadas are barns!

Starting Anna young, she got a princess hair care set (see her playing with the hair straightener?!). And the blow dryer is battery operated.

Great Grandma Bartlett gave Anna quarters to put into her piggy bank at home.
Somewhere over the rainbow....

Jimmy Johns sandwich party platter for dinner (my favorite, but they forgot to add the alfalfa sprouts on the "Turkey Toms")

These are now my favorite drink. sparkling 100% fruit juice, 0 sugar added, and 0 preservatives. I got them from Costco. They taste just like soda (you can find them in the juice section of Costco!)

Its not a party without chips!

Watermelon!

22 weeks? No... 25 1/2 weeks!

Well, you know in my last post how I said I was 22 weeks pregnant but it felt more like 37....

I went in for my check up yesterday morning at 8am and came out finding that the baby is measuring more on the 25 week size (26 weeks on monday). That would push my due date from July 22nd to July 1st assuming I measure just as large at my next appt. Doctor says I look great (ALL BABY) and need to rest more so I don't throw myself into preterm labor. I'm still able to do a 8 minute mile on the elliptical at the YMCA and the doctor gave another green light to keep working out as long as I promise to drink extra water.

Wahoo! Getting closer!

Spring

22 weeks pregnant is feeling more like 37 weeks pregnant by the way the braxton hicks contractions like to ground me to the couch after doing some house work. ;)

I'm in nesting phase which I just LOVE! I love that I actually have a huge desire to organize and make everything so clean.

Colton is doing swim + soccer this season and loving every minute of both! I was going to coach his soccer team but Reid thought that maybe he should do it since I'm more pregnant every day and I'm not very good about staying slow and relaxed like a lot of pregnant woman are (probably why I go into preterm labor all the time). The Chivas has their 1st game last Saturday morning at 8:30am and played against a team that has been together for four seasons already. I was completely shocked and greatly surprised at how well our Chivas team did at defense and offense! Must be that amazing coach they have! ;-)  We definitely gave the Wizards a run for their money.

Anna does mommy and me swim lessons while Colton is at preschool and doesn't love it like Colton but really enjoys splashing in the shallows after swim lessons when mommy works on her tan. ;-)

Reid is a busy man! He pulled a late night at Architekton last night and got right back to it this morning. He amazes me.

We have Easter coming up soon and the kids are all very excited about it, as they should be. I just loved holidays growing up but finding Easter eggs and baskets were always way to frustrating to me. Hope I can make it exciting for my kids so they have great memories to grow up with. Reid's family will be coming over Saturday before Easter so that we can have a nice dinner together and do a fun little egg hunt. Should be a great time as always!

Can you believe it?! Anna will be two April 30th. I feel like she is too tall/bright for her age as I feel like I have been calling her 2 the entire year she was one. Oops.

Hope everyone is defrosting from the crazy winter and gets LOTS of rain this spring. We pray that the droughts go away!

With love,
Meagan Johnson

Family update

Thought I should take a minute to update the blog, in cause people actually read it. ;)

Colton's last soccer game of the winter (remember, I live in Phoenix, things are a bit backwards) is coming to a close tomorrow, Saturday the 16th 2013! He has had a tough time with the fact that at practice you have your own ball and you get to use the ball to kick around the whole time and at the games you have to fight for a chance to kick it. I'm sure with time he will figure that one out. They didn't have swimming during the winter season because they don't usually get a very big turn out (even though the pools are heated).

Last night we went to the YMCA and signed him up for another season of soccer and swim which should start in a couple weeks. We also signed up Anna for swim during Colton's preschool time. We have a gated pool in our back yard that we are very cautious and worried about having a little one drowned so they will continue swimming for as long as we can help it. Plus its a really good exercise and a sport that is kind to the joints and bones, which we love!

Yesterday was Valentines day and I had a ob/gyn appt at 8am that took me with traffic, 45min to get to. Before I left the house I set out some chocolate long stemmed roses and pop rock candies for Reid and the kids to wake up to. When Reid got home from work he brought me candy bars, red roses and a cute card. He treats me so well! My mother in law raised him to be an amazing husband and father!

We have been fighting the sickies over here, seems like every time we go to church we catch something new. :( Can't wait for the warmer weather so the sicknesses can go dormant for a while.

Baby #3 update:
Everything seems to be going well as far as they can tell! I will be 18weeks on monday. Due date is roughly (because babies hardly ever come on due dates) July 22nd. I'm hoping to be lucky again and have it over the weekend like I did with Anna! That sure did help on having people around to watch Colton while I was in the hospital.

Primary - Scouting - Its in my blood!

Guess who is the primary counselor over the handsome little cub scouts in the ward, me! I admire the scouting program and have nothing but marvelous things to say about it. I'm excited to work hand in hand with the den leaders in making it a very successful program. They have a dutch oven cook off camp out that the Primary presidency will be attending (we will just be there for the dinner & dessert, not the camping) and then Blue & Gold is Februray 5th! Can't wait!

Soccer 2012-13

Colton started up soccer this year. He is playing on a 5-6 year old team (as a 3 year old). He is definitely learning, its been a good season so far!

Conner has the ball, Colton and Conner go to church and pre-school together.

Alex is a cute girl on the team, she reminds me of a older version of my niece Emma.

Art - Bill Johnson

My father in-law had an art exhibit recently and luckily we had no other pending plans and were able to attend short notice. We are so glad we were able to go and see all of his many art pieces and photographs. He is an extremely talented man. I hope we are lucky enough to enjoy one of his pieces in our home some day. If you see the pictures of the orange fall trees near my elbow.... that is the very coveted piece I hope to own some day. I told him we had to show up to make sure he didn't sell it! ;) It reminds me of the Foley's trees that would turn bright yellow and orange in the fall.

Baby #3!

Iv decided posting a title with the name of the month is probably a bad idea if you can't get back to blogging for a couple of months. OOPs!

I thought I would write on here really quick for those of you who may have not heard yet....

We are expecting Johnson baby # 3 in July!

I have to go pick up Colton from preschool now, but needed to get that on our blog before I forgot again.

Hope everyone had a blessed holiday season.

Love,
The Johnson's

Pictures - Hello November!

Anna @ the park by our house.

GQ @home eating lunch

1st fire of the season!

Went off roading with Uncle Karl and cousin Emmin. It was so fun. (Thats Reid in our 4Runner)
Uncle Karl found a narrow tunnel under a railroad that we went through in order to do some off roading.

The holidays are approaching us quickly. Every other year we trade off for Christmas and Thanksgiving. This year we will be in Kansas for Thanksgiving which we call Thanksmas because that's when we do Christmas with my family on the off year. We will be in Arizona for Christmas this year and vise versa next year. ;)

Sickness has been going around the family. First, the little girl that I nanny kept coming over with a fever and I kept sending her home... finnally her family took her to the doctor and she ended up having STREP. So I ended up with strep and a heavy dose of meds. Luckly Colton and Anna didn't catch it. I was so upset as I was excited to go help my cute sister in law Edith with her new baby girl that arrived a day early to be born on election day this year. Edith- once our coughs and runny noses go away I'm determined to come hug that cute new niece!

I'm busy busy busy with my church calling as counselor in the Primary Presidency. We have a up coming service project that we will be doing with the kids on Friday. We are having the kids each put together gift baskets for parents in need that show up to one of the local hospitals last minute with nothing but a shirt on their backs while there kids are in the hospital for a illness or trauma. One of the other counselors works in the ICU and helped us with this service project as she see's a lot of parents that have to go and find a convenience store just to grab a tooth brush because the child was rushed in without much warning. We are also having other neat little stations, I'm in charge of the sugar cookie decorating station for their treat to have while they are there and we will be making "Thankful Tree's" as a neat way to get ready for Thanksgiving.

Reid went and saw a specialist for his ears that actually knows about Meniers desease. There are not many ENT's that know about this disease so when he was able to get an appointment to see one he jumped at the opportunity. The one meniers ENT doctor in Phoenix has a waiting list till April of next year. The doctor told him he will need to make some major life style changes, go to bed at a good time at the same time every night, exercise, and eat this fancy diet.

Colton has not wet the bed in 3 weeks, that's including naps and all night long!!! He has been doing really well with the potty training. This boy is growing like a weed! He is LOVING preschool and has been learning so much.

Anna is so much like Reid. She is so serious all the time and looks for Reid all day when he is at work. Then when Reid is home she loves to cuddle with him. She is a daddies girl for sure.

Family Update

Amber came to visit me! I really enjoyed her company and help with the crazy kids!
Amber and I braved Toys R Us with a shopping cart full of kids in order to get this new sandbox. Reid wanted to make one and it has been months of rain and so the sand that we purchased started going everywhere as the bags were callapsing. So we went out and purchase this one. So much better looking than those ugly turtles.
This is Colton and his friend Cara right before swim lessons on their 1st day!
This is a photo of Colton and Anna after a warm day of soccer.
Daddy playing with his kids in Coltons room.
My desert candy corn bush (thats what I call it) and my cute little scarecrow.

HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY!

Thought I would just do a quick update! HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY! Hope all is doing well. We are busy over here with work, preschool, refinishing furniture, and trying to keep Reid from falling or tripping as he had another Meneires attack over Labor day. Each day has been a little better. ;)
