This morning at 5am I was suppose to take Misato to the airport so that she could go home to her family in Japan. When I went to her room to get her to go, she said "there was a huge earthquake in Japan". Her family is safe! The airport was hit. We took Misato to the airport anyways to talk to the host home coordinators to see what to do next. They said all flights to Japan are canceled and to take your students back home and that they would contact us.
8.9 on the ricter scale! with a 7.5 after shock! Plus huge tsunamis hit Japan and other countries across the world. What a crazy thing to have happen while we were sleeping the night before she was suppose to go home to Japan.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all those in Japan affected by this horrible disaster.

What a horribly devastating thing to happen! I saw it this morning and couldn't believe it. So glad her family is safe! That would be so scary to be in her situation with no way of knowing how or when she will get home. Best of luck to her and her family!
